Way to go!

Our first outreach meeting on Tuesday was a great success!

A group of 6th and 8th grade students set up outside of the link to educate the 7th and 8th grade chorus spectators as they entered and exited the event.  People learned about the benefits of cellulose insulation, the advantages of CFL light bulbs and were even able to purchase CFL light bulbs from students!  Students were there to discuss what they were learning in class and supplied visitors with information about the contest.  All proceeds from the sales will go towards making our school more energy efficient.  Additionally, members from CO-OP Power were there to educate citizens about having their homes audited for free.  Several citizens signed up to have their homes audited!!!  BE THE CHANGE, WALPOLE!  For more information go to: http://www.cooppower.coop/ or http://www.masssave.com/ and keep checking here on updates about the energy efficiency audits being done at Town Hall today!

Students are using smart phone technology to measure the heat loss of their homes.
Students have just begun the energy audits of their model homes made of paper.  We will now be experimenting with different materials to see which ones are more energy efficient--stay tuned!
